Both Sides Now is a multimedia zine dedicated to exploring the human complexity behind polarized issues—those that shape our politics, culture, and private lives. It was created in response to a world increasingly defined by certainty and division, grounded in the belief that truth rarely lives at the extremes.
We do not publish to take sides.
We publish to understand them.
Both Sides Now is a quarterly publication, with each issue centered on a single theme at the heart of public debate. Through essays, interviews, art, and dialogue, we invite contributors to engage not in resolution but in reflection. The goal is not to settle arguments, but to deepen them and create space for perspectives to exist alongside one another.
Submissions are accepted year-round, welcoming voices across disciplines, backgrounds, and viewpoints. While we are a print publication, issues are only produced on demand, allowing each edition to remain intentional, accessible, and responsive to our readership.
More than a publication, Both Sides Now is a movement. It is an ongoing effort to push back against oversimplification and to foster a culture that values thoughtfulness over reaction. We ask readers and contributors alike to sit in tension, to question their assumptions, and to engage with ideas that may challenge them.
